The context of this Scripture is when Peter warned us that there will be false prophets and false teachers among us, and that means in churches. They are running rampant in American churches today. Peter also wrote: “And through covetousness. shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth , and their damnation slumbereth not.” (2 Peter 2:3) Be very careful whom you listen to, and test what they say using the word of God. ✝️
